SANTA MONICA, Calif. – December 12, 2018 – Silicon-beach startup in SaaS solutions Aparavi® celebrated 2018’s accomplishments and milestones including significant rapid new customer acquisition, new features in Aparavi Active Archive℠, multiple awards, and new communities of channel and cloud partners.
Customer interest and adoption ramped sharply throughout the year, especially in the mid-size to enterprise markets. Customers attribute cloud and digital business initiatives along with the need to better manage their backup and archive of unstructured data as the impetus to adopt Aparavi.
Many key capabilities were added to its long-term data retention platform such as data classification, tagging, and full-content search, to provide fine-grained control and ease regulatory and internal compliance. It holds a patent for its innovative point-in-time recovery, which provides retrieval from any combination of storage – local or cloud, public or private, without having to know where the data is.
Recognition in 2018 included Gartner’s “Cool Vendor in Storage,” CRN magazine’s “10 Hottest Cloud Computing Startups of 2018” and “One to Know” for VP of business development Jonathan Calmes, SearchStorage “vendors to watch in 2018,” EnterpriseStorageForum’s “Data Storage Startups to Watch,” and “Best New Exhibitor” at the annual Channel Partners Evolution event.
The Aparavi Advantage™ Partner Program, introduced in June, attracted solution providers and MSPs interested in deploying Active Archive to safeguard their clients’ data. The program provides generous margins with pricing based on the aggregated capacity of the partner’s end users.

The company expects to continue this rapid pace of certifications to support its no-vendor-lock strategy, which along with the open-data format provides more control and independence to customers. Aparavi also announced a jointly developed solution with backup vendor NovaStor that offers all-inclusive data protection from its creation to cloud archive.
Given these successes the company has necessarily added to its sales/marketing and engineering teams, as well as its C-level team who collectively represent more than a century of experience in enterprise infrastructure and data management technologies.
