Contrary to some commentary, GDPR does not only apply to organizations in the EU. If you are doing any business there, or if you have web traffic to your site from there – and who doesn’t – you’re going to need to think about and plan for how to handle GDPR. Additionally, California has just recently passed the Consumer Protection Act, which picks up on many of the same privacy concerns.
At Aparavi we’ve been thinking about this issue for some time, and recently decided to engage George Crump, lead analyst from Storage Switzerland, to help us address the topic. In the first of four blogs, George is talking about how to understand data retention and privacy, the problems with backup and data management, and what needs to be considered in a solution. Additionally, we are hosting a webinar on the same topic.
